Playground

The Westminster Playground is located at 911 Westminster St, NW. It was fully renovated in 2002 and has quickly become a favorite family spot in the neighborhood. The playground has a water feature that runs during the summer months. It also has great huge trees surrounding it making it a cooler shady place during the summer months. The playground is open to the public from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm seven days/week, 365 days/year.

The playground water feature will be turned on either when we have 3 days where the temperature is predicted to be 80 degrees or higher or on Memorial Day, whichever comes first.

The Playground is maintained by all the members of our community. We ask all of you using the Playground to help sweep the wood chips off the concrete and clear the chips from the drains as well as to pick up any trash you see in the Playground.

For those of you caring for babies, please use the poop disposal bags which you will find on the right pillar when you enter the Playground.

The playground is overseen by the mural “Community“ by Anne Marchand as well as a series of mosaics by Jerome Meadows.

Read My Memories of the Westminster Playground Renovation by Chuck Baxter for more information about the creation of the playground.

If you want to schedule a children’s birthday or other party, see the next section, titled “Playground-Parties.”
