Dear neighbors:

The WNA held its October 2024 meeting last night on October 10th, via Zoom.

We were joined by At-Large Councilmember Robert White, who spoke about his background and legislative record. He also took a number of questions from attendees, focused mainly on public safety issues.

Among other things, the Councilmember expressed support for the creation of a U Street Business Improvement District, if the neighborhood sees a BID as desirable, and expressed his frustration about the lack of enforcement of the drug-free zone around Cleveland Elementary.

In other business, fall cleanup will take place 9am-12pm on October 19th; it will be a joint operation with the French Street Neighborhood Association. We will have a dumpster, hazardous waste disposal, and paint to put numbers on trash cans.
